Three completed collages are due this Friday the 24th May. You are to cover each collage with a coat of varnish and scan. Files are to be labelled in the following way Collage1_name.jpg eg Collage2_mrslee.jpg. You are to email me the 3 files before the end of the day on Friday.
This week you are to think about what you will create for your next painting, produce a brainstorm and collect materials - the object you will paint (actual object must be brought into class and photographed) as well as the packaging or advertising you will paint on. We will be focusing on learning painting techniques in order to create realistic paintings of your subject. We will be applying some of Ben Frosts ideas by painting on top of related packaging or advertising eg a picture of a strawberry on top of a packet of strawberry flavoured muesli bars, a painting of a flower on top of a seed packet or a realistic painting of a handsaw on top of an advertisement for a modern electric handsaw. You must meet with me before the end of the week to check ideas. Brainstorm, objects and packaging are due Monday 27th May - you must bring these into class.

Wed 24 Feb:
Find at least 2 examples of collage papers (different to the papers you brought in previously) - try to find papers that you saw in the collage examples. The best option is real paper rather than the internet, but if you use the internet then you must make sure you are allowed to use these images.
If you did not complete the homework set yesterday then you are still required to complete this.
Next class Friday.
Tues 23 Feb:
1. Look at www.acollageaday.com find and save 3 examples of collage that you like.
2. Write down 4 things you see in the collage, describe it eg line drawings of ……….., grid paper, etc
Choose 3 OR 4
3. Do an internet search and find (and save, including sources) at least 3 examples of images or papers you can add into your collage (similar in style to the previous examples)
– think about where you are getting your images from – does it say they are for public use? Electronic version of this is fine, you can print in class or at a later date, I just need to see them tomorrow.
4. Look around your house and find at least 3 different types of paper or images (similar in style to the previous examples) that you can use in a collage.

Mon 25 Feb:
Read over the remainder of the "Analysing and Artwork" handout - Analysis, Interpretation and Judgement sections. Come to class with questions for parts you do not understand or need explaining. You will then be required to complete the remainder of the analysis in class.

grade and give feedback, you will then be given time to make changes and improvements
and resubmit. If you do not submit this page for the first assessment I will not be able to give you formative feedback and allow you to rework and resubmit for summative assessment. Portfolio Page 2: Flora is due Friday 22nd February. Some of you will complete this before this
deadline - please submit as soon as possible to allow additonal grading and resubmission time.

Please spend a few minutes watching the video shown in class today - These are already on this
wikispace. Look at the 9IGCSE board on Pinterest - find examples of artist model Chris Piascik to
get an idea of how you can create your own version of a monster doodle.
It would be great if you take your trial doodle home to practice/complete/think about your final
design - then you could be ready to start this next lesson :)
